AOD’s Board of Directors are a group of highly dedicated volunteers who not only have a heart for the organization but are also the governing body. They are responsible for creating the mission, vision, strategic plan and for the integrity of its operations and financial records.
Acres of Diamonds is blessed to have the following people guiding its ministry. They pray together, meet monthly and want to help AOD grow.

Julie has worked in the local medical community for 18 years as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. She served as the Chairman of the Advisory Committee for the School of Nuclear Medicine Technology at Bellevue Community College from 2002-2007. Julie also served as President-Elect, President and Past-President of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Society of Nuclear Medicine Technologist Section from 1997-2000. She also served as a foster parent from 2007-2009.
Julie connected with Acres through the Christmas Angel Tree ministry at Lake Sammamish Foursquare Church in 2008. An invitation to dine with the residents provided a connection that grew into teaching specialty baking classes to residents and, later grew into board service. In the early years of her adult life Julie experienced many of the same struggles that residents of Acres of Diamonds face. That period of profound challenge was the launching pad for learning how to struggle effectively and taking personal responsibility for her future. She believes deeply in providing the opportunities and resources for other women to pursue personal transformation.

Peggy has been a volunteer at AOD since July 2010. She started as a weekly visitor and joined the board January 2011. Peggy has always been involved in ministries that benefit single mom’s, and women, who are striving to make positive changes in their lives. She feels blessed to have found this organization. Vivian has worn many hats since she started volunteering for Acres 17 years ago. She has been a bible teacher, taxi driver, mothering mentor, board member and all around prayer warrior. She has a natural gifting of compassion and with AOD opening in her neighborhood, she jumped in.

Joey has been a board member for over three years having been introduced to Acres seven years ago while working with women at the Union Gospel Mission. Having lived herself in a Christian transitional home, she has the experience, heart and passion to give back what the Lord so graciously provided her. Similar to Acres, her ministry home gave her the Biblical foundation, structure and accountability to become a chemical dependency counselor. Having worked in the field has given Joey the gift to see these women as the Lord sees them – healed and set free.
